About Ammobia
Ammobia is on a mission to revolutionize the ammonia industry. We are a seed-stage startup developing Haber Bosch 2.0 – a next-generation ammonia synthesis process enabling cost-effective, clean ammonia production. Until now, ammonia production has been a highly polluting, steady-state, high inertia process. We are developing new regimes of physics and plant design that require dynamic processes, especially for ammonia production from intermittent renewable energy sources. Clean ammonia will support ammonia’s growing role in our decarbonized world, tackling some of the most difficult to abate sectors including chemicals, fertilizers, and heavy-duty transportation. We are supported by leading climate tech organizations including Starlight Ventures, Collaborative Fund, Third Derivative, Forbes 30u30, and more.

Job Description
Passionate about climate change and eager to co-shape the future of an early-stage start up? You will work on a small engineering team focused on achieving world-best performance from our reactors while maintaining safety and reliability. With a large sense of individual ownership, you will be responsible for driving projects to completion. Responsibilities will be tailored to your experience and interests and may include:

  • Flex your coding skills by designing and engineering new software products to help manage experiment operation and automation, data collection, and analysis.
  • Break new ground by planning novel control strategies for in-house, first-of-a-kind chemical reactor development
  • Be empowered to work with modern and efficient toolchains: Our stack includes Python, Flask, Baserow, Jupyter, Github codespaces, DigitalOcean, Ignition, and more.
  • Wear many hats: Work all the way up and down the stack, producing high quality, tested code in everything from front-end CSS to backend databases.

Requirements
Successful applicants will have most of the following:

  • A basic understanding of thermodynamics, chemistry, and other engineering principles.
  • Previous internship experience in relevant field
  • Feel at home working in Python, some experience with Jupyter
  • A desire to build and experiment. Experience with lab research and data analysis is a huge plus, as is chemical engineering fundamentals.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with LabView, PLCs, and SCADA systems is highly valued.
